Teotihuacan Ruins are located 30 miles northeast of Mexico City, in what is now the San Juan Teotihuacan municipality in the state of Mexico. Området er kjent for å ha de mest arkitektonisk betydelig pyramidene bygget i pre-colombiansk Amerika. Også av interesse er antropologisk betydelige bolig forbindelser, Avenue of the Dead og vakkert bevart malerier. Navnet “Teotihuacan” er en Aztec setning som betyr “sted hvor gudene ble født.”

Mexico City is located in the Valley of Mexico at the center of Mexico. It is the capital and most important city in Mexico. It serves as the seat of all federal powers. Not only is it the largest city in Mexico but with the definition of Greater Mexico by its population is over 21 million making it the largest metropolitan area in the western hemisphere. In the southern borough of Xochimilco are the floating gardens part of the UNESCO UNESCOs verdensarvliste. Other famous landmarks include the Plaza de la Constitucion with the Metropolitan Catherdral, National Palace and the ancient Aztec temple ruins Templo Mayor. With 160 museums, over 100 art galleries, 30 concert halls and many theatres, Mexico City has the world’s greatest concentration of cultural centers.
