San Francisco de Campeche, also known as just “Campeche” is located in the state of Campeche, Mexique, on the Bay of Campeche of the Gulf of Mexique. Campeche serves as the Capital of the state of Campeche and has a population of over 200,000 people. The city has earned the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its preservation and the quality of the architecture. The city has retained most of the wall fortifications built to defend it from the pirates of the Carribbean.
La paix is the capital city of Baja California Sur, Mexique. Its name means “peace”. The summers are cooled by the Coromuel winds, unique to the La paix area. The city, one of the largest municipalities in Mexico by area, was featured in the John Steinbeck novel “The Pearl.”
