Sian Ka’an is a biosphere reserve in the town of Tulum, Quintana Roo, México. It became a UNESCO Patrimônio Mundial dentro 1987. Part of the reserve is on land and part is in the Caribbean Sea, including a section of coral reef. The reserve offers protection for the endangered species in the Riviera Maya and provides environmental education to the local communities to assist and train the residents working with ecotourism.
San Francisco de Campeche, also known as just “Campeche” is located in the state of Campeche, México, on the Bay of Campeche of the Gulf of México. Campeche serves as the Capital of the state of Campeche and has a population of over 200,000 people. The city has earned the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its preservation and the quality of the architecture. The city has retained most of the wall fortifications built to defend it from the pirates of the Carribbean.
